What is Biden Hiding?
The presumed Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is hiding something, but what is it?
In an interview with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” last week, Biden refused to make public a treasure chest of papers from his Senate career he donated to the University of Delaware in 2012, admitting they could “be taken out of context,” and that he didn’t want his conversations with world leaders and position papers to be used as “fodder in a campaign.”
What is the U.S. public supposed to make of this? Biden doesn’t want his records as a U.S. Senator – position papers he wrote, policies he advocated for, conversations he had with world leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin to be disclosed to the U.S. public – because they could be taken out of context? The work that Biden did as a public servant is extremely relevant as he seeks the highest office in the land.
Biden has kowtowed to Beijing for four decades. What are in these papers regarding China? Is there any mention of his December 2013 trip to Beijing, with his son Hunter riding on Air Force Two, where Hunter used the opportunity to introduce his father to Chinese private equity executive Jonathan Li? Are there any connections or explanations as to why less than two weeks after the trip Hunter inked a $1.5 billion investment deal with Li backed by the state-owned bank of China?
Or perhaps it’s dealings with his brother James, who was courting Wall Street's wealth, based on Joe Biden’s position and power within the Washington establishment.
“Don’t worry about investors,” James told a Wall Street executive in 2006, as reported by Politico. “We’ve got people all around the world who want to invest in Joe Biden.”
At the time of the pitch, Biden was just months away from assuming the chairmanship of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and launching his second presidential bid.
Biden himself brought up his conversations with Putin. What exactly could be relevant in Biden’s University of Delaware papers that could shed light on this relationship?
We know former President Barack Obama had a cozy relationship with Russia while Biden served as vice president. In 2012, while Obama was seeking reelection, he assured the Russians he would be in a better position to take care of their concerns, "particularly with missile defense," after November's election. Was Biden making similar assurances to a communist geopolitical foe?
There are too many questions and not enough answers. Joe Biden must release his University of Delaware papers so that the American public can ascertain exactly what he stood and advocated for during his time as a public servant.
However, we’re not holding our breath.
The University has said the documents will be made public two years after Biden leaves public life, and its board members have close personal and financial ties to Biden. The establishment elite is circling their wagons to protect their own so they can keep the gravy train rolling.
